OrbVPN protects every device you own and gives you full control over them. Sign in across phones, computers, and TVs, see exactly what is connected to your account, and sign out anything you no longer use, all in a few taps.
One Account, Every Device
Your OrbVPN account is your email address. Sign in once, then add every device you own, your phone, tablet, laptop, desktop, and TV, all protected by the same subscription. The number of devices you can use at the same time is set by your plan, and you can manage which devices are active at any moment.
Mobile
iOS and Android phones and tablets, with passkey and QR sign-in for the fastest setup on a new device.
Desktop
macOS, Windows, and Linux, with sidebar navigation and a system tray or menu bar control for quick connect.
TV
Fire TV and Android TV, with a remote-friendly interface and QR sign-in so you never type credentials with a remote.
Adding a New Device
There are three convenient ways to sign in on a new device. All of them share the same account and subscription.
Magic Code
Enter your email on the new device and receive a one-time 6-digit code (valid 15 minutes). Type it or tap the link in the email to sign in.
QR Sign-In
Show a QR code on the new device and scan it from a phone that is already signed in, no typing at all. Ideal for TVs and new phones.
Social or Password
Continue with Apple or Google, or sign in with your email and password. Two-factor authentication is supported if you have enabled it.
Fastest Path for TVs
On Fire TV and Android TV, the sign-in screen shows a QR code and an email and password form side by side. Scanning the QR code from your phone is by far the fastest way in, no on-screen keyboard required.
QR Sign-In Explained
QR sign-in lets a device that is already authenticated approve a sign-in on another device. It works in both directions, so it is just as useful for logging a TV into your account as it is for setting up a brand-new phone.
The Two Tabs
Display
The device that needs to sign in shows a QR code with a 5-minute countdown. It polls continuously and completes sign-in the instant another device approves it.
Scan
A signed-in device uses its camera to scan a QR code shown on another device, or on the web panel, and approves that login instantly.
Step by Step
Show the Code on the New Device
Open OrbVPN on the device you want to sign in. On a TV or a fresh install, a QR code appears automatically. On a phone, tap the QR icon at the top-right of the login screen to display one.
Open the Scanner on a Signed-In Device
On a phone that is already signed in, open QR Code Login and switch to the Scan tab. Grant camera permission if asked.
Scan and Confirm
Point the camera at the QR code. OrbVPN detects it automatically, confirms the login, and the new device signs in within seconds.
Codes Refresh Automatically
Each QR code is valid for 5 minutes. If it expires before it is scanned, the displaying device generates a fresh one automatically, or you can tap to generate a new code. The code is single-use and tied to one sign-in.
Web Panel Sign-In
The Scan tab also reads QR codes shown on the OrbVPN web panel, so you can log a web session in from your phone without entering a password on the computer.
Viewing Your Active Sessions
OrbVPN shows you exactly which devices are currently signed into your account, so you always know what has access.
Open Active Sessions
In the app, go to your account security settings and open Active Sessions (the list of devices logged into your account).
Review the List
Each entry shows the device name, platform, and an icon for the device type. Your current device is identified so you do not sign yourself out by mistake.
Sign Out a Device Remotely
Found a device you no longer use, or do not recognize? Sign it out directly from this screen. That session is revoked immediately and the device is signed out.
See Something You Don't Recognize?
If a device appears that you do not recognize, sign it out immediately, then secure your account by switching to a passkey or changing your password. Because OrbVPN sessions are tied to your account, revoking a session blocks further access from that device.
Reaching Your Device Limit
Each plan includes a set number of simultaneous devices. When you sign in on a new device after reaching that limit, OrbVPN helps you make room on the spot.
Device Limit Dialog
If you exceed your plan's device limit during sign-in, a dialog lists your registered devices with their names, platforms, and last active times. Your current device is marked and cannot be removed.
Select a Device to Remove
Tap the device you no longer use to select it. Only one device needs to be freed to make room for the new one.
Log Out and Log In
Tap Log Out and Log In. The selected device is signed out, and OrbVPN automatically retries your sign-in on the new device.
Raising Your Device Limit
Need to connect more devices at once? Upgrade to a higher plan, or purchase a device add-on to increase your simultaneous-device limit without changing your base plan. Your limit always reflects your current plan plus any add-ons.
Device Management Best Practices
Use Passkeys Where You Can
A passkey ties sign-in to your device's biometrics, so a lost password can never be used to access your account. Register one after your first sign-in.
Review Sessions Periodically
Check Active Sessions every so often and sign out devices you have sold, replaced, or no longer use. It keeps your account tidy and secure.
Enable Biometric App Lock
Turn on Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint app lock in Settings so the OrbVPN app cannot be opened by anyone who picks up your device.
Sign Out Before You Sell
Before passing on or recycling a device, sign out within the app or revoke its session remotely so it no longer counts toward your device limit.
